The once high-flying US dollar has had a year to forget in 2017. The US dollar index, or DXY, has fallen by more than 10% since hitting a multi-year high in early January this year, undermined by a combination of political gridlock in WASHINGTON, soft US economic data and improved economic activity elsewhere in the world.
